Philosophy

I am an artist. I am a thinker. I am a human being.

You, on the other hand, are a leech, a parasite, a tornadic destructive force.

My purpose is to learn, understand, and perceive. My brush is my own mind; my canvas is my audience; and my work is real, truthful, beautiful, frightening, daring, expansive life.

Whereas your purpose is to gain, command, control, and conquer. Your brush is the pen, your canvas the banknote, your audience your stakeholders and blindly eager servants, and your work… the blood of the ones who raise you up and praise you for your false, angry godhood.

I refuse to buy in to your concept of deep emotional detachment, greed for material objects, ignorance of self, apathy of awareness, and the dead, soulless look in your eyes.

And yet you will refuse my concepts of personal awe, philosophical growth, artistic exploration, inward journeys, outward attitudes, and the freezing, burning rush of feeling and life.

You see me, emotionally encumbered, mentally aware, spiritually active, soulfully full, and you call me weak. But I see you, detached, drained, and focused on the here and now, and I call you dead.

You will treat love as an equation, life as a process, and logic as a God.

Instead, I will look at love as a dark beauty, life as a suffering cycle, and logic as merely a tool.

And I will live to grow, teach, learn, and know. You will live to overtake, consume, expand, and expell.

I create, while you destroy.

I study philosophy, to understand purpose, to give myself direction, to know what living is and to realize my highest level of being.

You study psychology, to learn the subtle process of manipulation, to understand better how to control.

I study science, to understand that which surrounds me, that which is inside me, and that whence I come from, to attempt to satiate my own burning, child-like curiosity.

You study mathematics, to learn control of the cold, sterile perversions and perturbations of reality.

I strive and struggle to hold a mirror up to nature, to expound and impress the beauty of what all is. You swindle and steal your way to holding nature under the gun, bending it your own whims, forcing it serve your desires, treating it as a slave to profit and power.

We both, however, can agree on one thing: We will not conform, condone nor concede to the other. We will not give each other an inch of ground, and only time will tell which attitude will prevail, which mindset will survive as the fittest.

And, all are free to make the choice.
